Pancake Day: OUUS Celebrates Ukrainian Traditions
On Tuesday, 17 February, the Oxford University Ukrainian Society co-hosted a lively Pancake Day gathering at Ertegun House together with the Oxford University Graduate Society. The event brought together students and friends of Ukraine for an evening of food, conversation, and community.
Guests enjoyed a selection of traditional Ukrainian pancakes, including syrnyky and oladi, served with a variety of sweet toppings. The event offered a relaxed setting for attendees to meet new people, reconnect with friends, and experience a small taste of Ukrainian cuisine and hospitality.
The evening was very well attended, with Ertegun House filled throughout the event as students stopped by to try the food and learn more about Ukrainian traditions surrounding Pancake Week. Events like this play an important role in the Society’s mission to share Ukrainian culture with the wider Oxford community while creating opportunities for social connection.
We are grateful to everyone who came along and helped make the evening such a success.
